Vitaly Mutko's English

This week in Russia one of the main pieces of news was a win of the Russia's bid for holding the Football World Cup in 2018. Yes, I'm very proud of it. But what I'm absolutely upset of is a quality of Vitaly Mutko's speech in honour of this win. You can see and listen this moment in the next clip:

You may ask me "Who is Mr.Mutko?". You can find the description of his position on the big screen in the beginning of the speech.

The Troggs - Love Is All Around

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

I see your face before me
As I lay on my bed
I kind a get to thinking
Of all the things we said

You gave your promise to me
And I gave mine to you
I need someone beside me
In everything I do

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

Pet Shop Boys - It's A Sin

(Twenty seconds and counting...
T minus fifteen seconds, guidance is okay)
??
When I look back upon my life
It's always with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too

It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin

At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too

It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin

ABBA - The Winner Takes It All

I don’t wanna talk
About the things we’ve gone through
Though it’s hurting me
Now it’s history
I’ve played all my cards
And that’s what you’ve done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That’s her destiny

I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I’d be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules

The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It’s simple and it’s plain
Why should I complain.

Neil Sedaka - Oh! Carol

(Ohh, ooh-ooh-ooo-ooo-oo-oo.)
(Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo.)
(Ooo-ooo ooo-ooo-ooo.)

Oh, Carol, I am but a fool,
Darling, I love you though you treat me cruel.
You hurt me and you make me cry,
But if you leave me I will surely die.

Darling, there will never be another,
'Cause I love you so.
Don't ever leave me, say you'll never go.
I will always want you for my sweetheart,
No matter what you do.
Oh, Carol, I'm so in love with you.

[Spoken while backup singers vocalize:]
Oh, Carol, I am but a fool,
Darling, I love you though you treat me cruel.
You hurt me and you make me cry,
But if you leave me I will surely die.

[Sung:]
Darling there will never be another,
'Cause I love you so.
Don't ever leave me, say you'll never go.
I will always want you for my sweetheart,
No matter what you do.
Oh, Carol, I'm so in love with you-ooo-ooo.

Roy Orbison - Only The Lonely

Dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah
Ooh-yay-yay-yay-yeah
Oh-oh-oh-oh-wah
Only the lonely

Only the lonely (dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah)
Know the way I feel tonight
(ooh-yay-yay-yay-yeah)
Only the lonely (dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah)
Know this feelin’ ain’t right
(dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah)

There goes my baby
There goes my heart
They’re gone forever
So far apart

But only the lonely
Know why
I cry
Only the lonely

Dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah
Ooh-yay-yay-yay-yeah
Oh-oh-oh-oh-wah
Only the lonely

Only the lonely
Know the heartaches I’ve been through
Only the lonely
Know I cried and cried for you

Maybe tomorrow
A new romance
No more sorrow
But that’s the chance - you gotta take
If your lonely heart breaks
Only the lonely

Dum-dum-dum-dumdy-doo-wah

The Soviet Army builds a pontoon bridge

I have just found a video where Soviet soldiers build a pontoon bridge across a river. This bridge length is at least two hundred meters, but it takes only seven minutes to complete this construction and to make it possible for a truck to cross the river.

I think this video was made somewhere in Europe (Germany or Czechoslovakia). And when I am watching such a video I understand why the Western states were so scared of the Soviet Army. It would take a week or two for the Soviet Army to reach Atlantic Ocean, if it was a World war.

Video with the pontoon bridge:

Kray

KrayIn the beginning of this month I watched a new Russian film “Kray” (the film director - Aleksei Efimovich Uchitel, the main role was acted by Vladimir Lvovich Mashkov).

This is a story of life and relations between different people in a distant Siberian settlement “Kray”. Some of them are exiles, other are security or ordinary workers. Another important point is that it is 1945. It means that it is a time immediately after the WWII and that lives of these people have been dramatically changed by this even and sometimes even their lives have been broken.

In this film you can see expressions of different fillings: love, hate, fear, jealousy and others. And it is not the only interesting thing in this film. The other one is an atmosphere of that settlement. You can see the way people lived there, their clothes, their food, their entertainments and so on.

The most tremendous thing of this film is steam locomotives. There are at least three or four of them in the film. These steam locomotives have different constructions but the common thing for all of them is that they are loved and adored by their mechanics and that they are full value participants of the whole story. These steam locomotives are as independent actors like human beings.

And also I heard that this film would be nominated for Oscar as the best foreign film. I wish this film authors and actors luck and success!

Belarus has found an alternative supplier

Alexander Lukashenko and Hugo Chavez

Historically oil from Russian oil fields was a raw material for petroleum refinery plants in Belarus. But now due to different political disputes with Russian government and personal clashes between President Alexander Lukashenko and Prime-minister Vladimir Putin there is shortage of oil for the plants. But I am not sure that it is so, because nobody has cut off supplies, nobody even has promised to cut off these supplies. The only thing is that Russian authorities have decided to charge oil with custom fees (previously these supplies were almost free of charge).

Anyway during the last visit of President Hugo Chavez (Venezuela) to Belarus there was decided to expand supplies of oil from Venezuela to Belarus for Belarusian petroleum refinery. Moreover Hugo Chavez promised that Belarus would not have any problems with oil supplies in the next two hundred years. As well he added that it is his contribution to anti-imperialism struggle.

Do they know that Venezuela as far from Belarus as almost it possible? And that Belarus doesn’t have any sea ports at all? I think that they know these facts and that the only reason for these agreements is to tease Russia and to show that maybe it has money and power, but it is not the only party to negotiate with.

Kuryer film's soundtrack

This clip doesn't have any words, but anyway I decided to post it here. I liked this music when I was wathing the soviet film "Kuryer". I strongly recommend this film for evryone to watch.

The authot of the next composition is Herbie Hancock and it names "Rock It":
