There are several exceptions in English in using verbs in the Continuous terms. Some verbs are not used this way. Here are they:

    • to know
    • to mean
    • to realize
    • to recognize
    • to remember
    • to respect
    • to seem
    • to suppose
    • to think
    • to understand
  3. Verbs of fillings
    • to hear
    • to see
    • to taste
    • to smell
    • to sound
  4. Verbs of possession and connection
    • to be
    • to consist
    • to belong
    • to contain
    • to have
    • to include
    • to possess
    • to own
  5. And the fifth group
    • to involve
    • to measure
    • to weigh
